This list attempts to facilitate identification, use, and dissemination of SLAITS-related data products. The words and opinions expressed are those of the author(s), and are not necessarily those of the Department of Health and Human Services, funding agency or organization(s), or data collection contractor(s).

*Grey literature is defined by the Grey Literature Network Service as “information produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in electronic and print formats not controlled by commercial publishing i.e. where publishing is not the primary activity of the producing body” (Luxembourg, 1997 – Expanded in New York, 2004); the Grey Literature Network Service, accessed June 6, 2007). Some libraries (such as the University of British Columbia Library) also classify e-mails, faxes, blog postings, wikis, RSS feeds, and podcasts as grey literature to address changes in technology.

Grey literature is not always subject to a rigorous scientific peer review process prior to dissemination. Readers and data users are cautioned to be vigilant and thorough when assessing the quality of these products.

The NAS-NYS data were collected using the SLAITS mechanism, but are separate and distinct from the other two NAS samples (national and four-state).
